Everyone has heard of eBay right?

After humble beginnings in San Jose, California eBay quickly took the world by storm and continues to grow on a daily basis.
A huge marketplace where you can buy and sell anything, in fact the very first item sold on eBay was a broken laser pointer!

Our own experience with eBay was the starting point for Trade Your Charms.
We were interested in buying a Pandora bracelet and were searching online for a bargain.
We hadn't shopped on eBay previously and we were thrilled to see so many genuine Pandora pieces for such a cheap price.
The seller clearly stated that the bracelets were "genuine and authentic Pandora" so we hit the "BID" button and nervously waited for the auction to end.
WE WON THE BRACELET!
Oh that was fun and we were really excited until we received our package.

Fake:( A really bad one too. Good feeling gone.....

We contacted the seller, gave them bad feedback, they cancelled their account.
We had a few avenues of recourse but from everything we read on the Internet we would be banging our heads up against a brick wall so we gave up.
$70 down the drain.

Online sellers of fake goods are the scourge of the Internet.
They shouldn't be welcome on any site and they should be dealt with harshly when discovered.

Photographing Your Pandora Jewellery for Facebook

One of our favourite things to do while we are working is keeping up to date with the photos of Pandora that fans post to various Facebook sites online. Some Facebook pages feature thousands of photos of authentic Pandora bracelets and charms. Most are uploaded by the fans of these sites and this allows us to see many variations of Pandora Jewellery.

Here are some tips to help you upload beautiful photos for everyone to share.

Ensure your charm is clean and sparkly.
Place on a clean light background, an A4 sheet of white paper is perfect.
Use a digital camera rather than your mobile phone for best results
Take the photo in good light.
Set your camera to macro. The macro setting is best for taking close up photos of small items like charms. Macro is usually represented by a small flower, often a tulip.
Get as close to your charm as you can without losing focus.
Turn off your flash to avoid shiny reflections in your photos.
Upload to your computer and use the editing function to zoom and crop.
Take lots of shots and upload the best.

Episode 17, 2009 of The Collectors screened on ABC TV Australia, had a segment hosted by Socialolgist and Collector, Professor Adrian Franklin. The subject was about what the future collectibles would possibly be from the period of time referred to as "the noughties" (2000 to 2010). Amongst others he mentioned Pandora jewelry, in particular the charms they produce.
Adrian added "Pandora beads are much copied" and in his opinion the ones to collect.
This is indeed already occurring with retired beads now selling for twice or more the original retail price.

PayPal ensures safe and secure trading online whether you are a selling or buying.

At Paypal you can fund your payment with a credit card, debit card, bank account or Paypal balance.

N.B. When registering with paypal you will be asked to choose the method of payment that best suits you. If you wish to start shopping at www.tradeyourcharms.com immediately, the credit card option will allow you to do this, otherwise there can be up to a 48 hour delay when choosing the bank account option. Q. What size images should I upload?

A. All Images uploaded to the system will be resized to a maximum 700px wide and 700px high. All pictures should be under 1MB in size and in .jpg format. (you can set the output size in your camera settings)

For the best quality of your Images, please follow the instructions;

Ensure your charm is clean and sparkly. Check out our Caring for your charm tips.
Place on a clean light background, an A4 sheet of white paper is perfect.
Take the photo in good light.
Get as close to your charm as you can without losing focus.
Take lots of shots and upload the best three.
